Bellingham Conservation Studio

Hello, my name is Kitty Friesen and I am the conservator at Bellingham Conservation Studio.

I provide professional conservation and preservation services for archival and artistic works on paper, including letters, newspapers, maps, drawings, watercolor, pastel, prints, and family records.

No matter the size of the object, my goal is always to improve its structure and aesthetic to the taste of its owner. I can repair tears, folds, creases, and wrinkles, as well as accretion, acid burns, discoloration, improper mounting, adhesion, and damage from water and insects.

Throughout my 35 years of experience, I have worked with a variety of clients, including The Whatcom Museum, Western Washington University's Special Collections, the Washington State Archives, the Burlington Public Library, and the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies. I also frequently work with individuals to treat and restore artwork and family documents. My home-based studio is located in the Fairhaven neighborhood of Bellingham, Washington.
